The Quick View To The Usability Of Facet Fuel Pumps. Read Through!

Facet Fuel Pumps are suitable for most road or light competition race or rally carburettor vehicle applications. There are now 3 ranges of the Facet Fuel Pumps. The solid state and the cylindrical pumps have long been in the usage for many years. The additional range is the Posi-Flow which is an up to date development of the Solid State. Solid state pump come in four versions including Psi Flor USgal/Hr, SS500 40104 Road 2.0-4.0 25, SS501 40105 Road 3.0-4.5 30 and SS502 40106 Fast Road 4.5-7.0 32.

These part numbers are not fitted with a check valve so when the pump is not running, fuel can flow backwards. This is hardly a problem in motorsport applications. The pumps run constantly and will click even when full pressure has been reached and no fuel is flowing to the carbs.

The Facet Fuel Pumps possess a maximum lift of 30cms so must be fitted near the level of the fuel tank. The ports in this type of pumps are 1/8NPT and the inlet should be fitted with a filter union. The small one is FPA906 and the large one with a paper filter (not replaceable) FPA930. Both of these filters screw into the inlet and have 8MM push on unions.

On the other hand, there’s the second type called Cylindrical Pump. This pump is fitted to many carburetted competition cars and the usual versions of this pumps is Psi Flow USgal/Hr and StC505 475459E Fast Road 6.0-7.0 35. So, when buying Facet Fuel Pumps, make a wise choice!
